White Sox right-hander Danny Wright took a step in the right direction and towards his return on Wednesday, throwing three scoreless innings for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights, the Sox' minor league affiliate.
The 25-year-old Wright, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on March 27 with an elbow problem, struck out five, walked one, and allowed no hits.
Last season, Wright went 14-12 for the Sox in 196 1/3 innings, posting a 5.18 ERA. Wright recorded 136 strikeouts, which lead the team, and walked 71.
Wright reported no pain afterwards and is on track to return by early May. Josh Stewart, 24, has been starting in place of Wright and is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in two starts.
