The Twins would add a run in the second on a Denny Hocking ground out. Jimenez would make a great play on Hocking, robbing him of a single. The Twins would take the lead for good in the third on a three run homer by "Sox Killer" Bobby Kielty.
Things would only get worse in the fourth, which started with a single by AJ Pierzynski. Hocking then dropped a bunt that looked to be heading foul – until it hit the bag. Then Luis Rivas would lay down a sacrifice bunt, but Crede – who had to hurry – couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Guzman then hit a grounder towards second and Brian Daubach had it bounce off his glove. Had Daubach not went after it, Jimenez would have been able to make the play, which was ruled a hit. Torri Hunter would cap the inning with a three run homer that made it 11-2. It was the first batter Rick White faced.
The Twins would add four more in the fourth. Rick White started the inning giving up two walks and then a RBI single to Torri Hunter. Gary Glover relieved White giving up a double, RBI groundout, and three singles in the inning. White was responsible for three of the runs, Glover gave up one.
The Sox added their third run of the game on a Jose Valentin solo homer in the seventh inning.
Dave Sanders came into to pitch the eighth and he gave up a solo homer to the first batter he faced, catcher Tom Prince. Rivas would hit a one out single and would score on a two run homer by Doug Mientkwiewicz, which made it 18-3.
Bobby Kielty and Torri Hunter led the Twins offense going a combined 4-9 with 9 RBI and five runs scored. AJ Pierzynski went 4-4 while Denny Hocking, Christian Guzman and Doug Mientkwiewicz each had two RBI. Radke (5-3) picked up his fourth win in a row going seven innings giving up nine hits and three earned runs.
Notes: Centerfielder Willie Harris was injured while making a diving catch on a Torri Hunter line drive in the seventh inning. Harris injured his shoulder and had to be taken out of the game on a cart. He will undergo an X-Ray today, but it is believed to be a mild separation.
