Scouting Report

Angelo Gumbs has the look of a young player who is going to hit and hit in a big way. His pitch selection is still poor at times, but the swing mechanics and bat speed indicate he'll be a guy who makes an impact at the plate. He relies on very fast hands and stays short to the baseball. He also already has some natural lift in his swing and has a chance to be a plus power threat at the next level. He's already very strong and shows mature power, but he also looks like he'll add more strength over the years.

He has good speed and athleticism but it's his bat that stands out. He needs a lot of work on the defensive side and his long term position is a question mark. But, given his 20-25 home run upside and his quick bat that could allow him to hit for average, his bat could play at multiple positions on the field. Gumbs also looks like a player who could put up productive numbers all the way up the ladder.
