PinstripesPlus.com: Tell us what it feels like to be selected by the New York Yankees?

Steven Sensley: It's a dream come true, to be drafted by the most successful professional organization in all of sports.

PinstripesPlus.com: Talk about your game a little bit. What type of player are you and how do you see yourself fitting in with the Yankees?

Sensley: I'm a left hand power hitter and I think there was no better team for me to go to than the Yankees. There's a short porch in right field and I think it's a pretty hitter-friendly ballpark.

PinstripesPlus.com: What are your strengths and your weaknesses?

Sensley: I think an area of game I can improve upon is my defense. My strength is my hitting.

PinstripesPlus.com: How about your defensive game?

Sensley: I am committed to to becoming a solid defender while I'm trying to make my way in the show. Defense is important to me and I'm going to be constantly working to get better in the outfield on routes and at first [base].

PinstripesPlus.com: Who would you compare your game to at the Major League level so the Yankees' fans have an idea of what your game is like?

Sensley: I see myself more of a Kyle Schwarber type of player.

PinstripesPlus.com: Were you expecting to be drafted by the Yankees or were you surprised when they selected you?

Sensley: My area scout called the day before I was drafted and let me know that I would be drafted if I was still available. I was still surprised for some reason when my name was called.

PinstripesPlus.com: Do you see yourself staying at the same position or do you think you'll be moved to another position?

Sensley: Hopefully I can play right field, but if not I could always play left field or first base. I could DH but hopefully I can stay in a defensive position.

PinstripesPlus.com: What would you say is your best moment in baseball and why?

Sensley: Coming back from a 10-1 deficit to win the national championship at LSUE.

PinstripesPlus.com: Who was your favorite team and player growing up?

Sensley: Growing up, my favorite players were Bonds and Griffey Jr. They both had smooth left handed swings that produced a lot of thump.

PinstripesPlus.com: What are your immediate plans now that you have been drafted by the Yankees? Is it your intention to sign now and start your professional career immediately?

Sensley: I have already signed and I'm ready to hit the ground running.
