The Thunder jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first off Harrisburg starter Justin Echols. Kevin Reese led off with a single to center that was followed by a walk to Craig Wilson. After a line out by Robinson Cano that allowed Reese to advance to third, Reese scored on a fielders choice to by Aaron Rifkin. Dioner Navarro followed with a single to right center that scored Wilson and put the Thunder up 2-0.
Trenton doubled their lead to 4-0 in the second when Kevin Reese hit a two run homer to right that scored Teuris Olivares ahead of him to put Trenton up 4-0 after 2.
The Thunder added another run in the fifth on a Mitch Jones homer to left, his eleventh of the year, to give Trenton a 5-0 lead.
In the seventh, the Thunder offense tacked on three more to go up 8-0. Dioner Navarro hit a one out single to left center and one batter later, Jason Grove walked. Jake Weber followed with a single to right that scored Navarro and then was booted by Dominick Ambrosini, allowing Grove to score and Weber to advance to second. Teuris Olivares followed with a double down the left field line that scored Weber to put the game firmly out of reach.
Sandy Madera was activated from the Disabled List before last night's game…Matt Smith was placed on the seven day DL with a muscle strain on his right side. No decision has been made about who will take his next scheduled start on Friday against Binghamton….Aaron Rifkin was named Eastern League Player of the Week for hitting .462 last week with 13 runs batted in and an .885 slugging percentage….Coming into this afternoon's game, the Thunder bullpen has allowed 51.8% (41 of 79) of all inherited runners to score….Harrisburg is now scoreless in 38 of their last 39 innings dating to Friday night against Portland….
