Yankees Grab Two More College Hurlers

The Yankees went, again, back to the college pool, selecting Nebraska lefty, Zach Kroenke in the 5th round and righty pitcher, Doug Fister in the 6th out of Fresno State.

Well, despite their first round high school selection, it appears that the Yankees are reverting back to conservative selections in the still early rounds. However, Zach Kroenke, who we'll begin with, looks to be a very capable lefty starter. The University of Nebraska ace went 7-2 with season while compiling a 2.51 ERA. Fister, a righthander out of Fresno State was the Yankees' 6th round pick. The most intriguing thing about this junior righty is his size. He stands at 6' 8", 200 pounds. Mostly picked for projectability, Fister went 7-6 for the Bulldogs, compiling a 4.32 ERA.
