Yankees Take Austin Jackson in the 8th Round

They have coveted him for years, and they have him now. Signability may be a slight issue for this high school outfielder, but he is a high upside talent the Yankees would love to lock up.

The Yankees have had their eye on Austin Jackson since he played little league. They finally go their man, landing him in the 8 round of the 2005 draft. Jackson is also a basketball star and that drove many teams away from taking him earlier in the draft. However, he has as much upside as anyone in the draft so the Yankees will do their best to keep him away from playing basketball at Georgia Tech.
