"John did a really good job for us at Indianapolis and we were really impressed," Norris said. Andretti qualified and drove a fourth DEI entry at Indy.
"We had an opportunity to see if we could improve our performance. We just talked to him about getting in the car for a while. There is no set time or agenda," Norris said.
"There's no sense in locking ourselves into anything. But if John does what he did for us at Indianapolis, he really impressed a lot of people with what he did in our car there."
Green was hired in May after former driver Steve Park was released by DEI. Green was signed only through the end of this month, however.
