Ryan Newman fast at Atlanta: On Pole

Ryan Newman gets his second pole of 2004 season, his 3rd straight pole at Atlanta with a lap of 193.575. Newman who was the first one out in qualifying and was first on the board in the end.

Elliott Sadler will start 5th in the M&M Ford, which by the way has found its colors. Those black and white M&M's were just plain ugly. His teammate Dale Jarrett will start 6th in the UPS Ford. Dale Earnhardt Jr. who had problems all last weekend at "The Rock" will start in the 7th position.
The Chevrolets took 6 of the top 10 spots while only four Fords cracked the top 20.
The top qualifier for Roush Racing was Greg Biffle who qualifyed 13th in the National Guard Ford. Nextel Cup Points leader Matt Kenseth starts 30th.
Casey Mears who had a top 10 finish last week at Rockingham will start 9th. Kasey Kahne who leads the Rookie of The Year Standing by 12 over Scott Wimmer starts 12th. Wimmer will start 37th.
Gibbs Racing Bobby Labonte who has 6 wins here starts 10th while Tony Stewart starts 19th.
