Celtics cut Cavs lead in East to 3 games

The Celtics trimmed the Cavaliers lead in the Eastern Conference to three games with a 103-99 win at the TD Garden in Boston

In the battle of the Eastern Conference's top two teams, the Cavaliers and Boston Celtics went toe-to-toe for the entire game before the Celtics prevailed, 103-99

at TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics cut the Cavs lead in the conference to three games. Boston improved to 39-23, while the Cavs fall to 41-18.

The Cavs were 15-0 when leading on the road in the fourth quarter and led on multiple occasions in the fourth quarter in a game that had 24 lead changes. The last time the Cavs led was 97-96 when Kyle Korver hit a three-point shot with 57 seconds to play.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 56 points with each scoring 28 points. Derrick Williams scored 13, as well.

Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 31 points.

Triple Double Man: LeBron james had a triple-double with 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. It was James' seventh triple-double of the season.

Deron Debut: Deron Williams made his debut with the Cavs and played 23:44, including in the final minutes of the game. Williams had a three-point attempt go off the rim that would've tied the game in the final seconds. He finished with 4 points and two assists. 

The Other D Williams: Derrick Williams scored 13 points off the bench. 

Off Night for KK: Kyle Korver missed the first six shots he took from the field before hitting a trey with 57 seconds to play to give the Cavs a one point lead. He finished with just four points on 1-of-7 shooting. 

Three Ball: The Cavs hit 10-of-33 from behind the three-point line for 30.3 percent, despite a night that Kyle Korver and Channing Frye combined for just 2-of-11 from behind the three-point line. LeBron James hit three treys. 

Bogut Time: Andrew Bogut cleared waivers and is expected to sign with the Cavs by this weekend. 

Next Up: The Cavs will play their second game of a three-game road trip Friday night at Atlanta at 8 pm. They will play the Miami Heat on Saturday night to finish the road trip.
