Kyrie Irving, LeBron James-less Cavs scorched by Heat

The Cavs lost to the Heat in Miami, 120-92 with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving sitting out on the second night of a back-to-back

Kyrie Irving and LeBron James combined for 81 points on Friday night in Atlanta.

On Saturday night, the duo combined for zero points in Miami.

The result was predictable as the Heat cruised by the Cavaliers, 120-92. The Cavs drop to 42-19, while the Heat improve to 29-34. The Cavs are 0-5 when James sits out so far this season.

Irving and James sat out for rest on the second night of the back-to-back. Channing Frye led the Cavs with 21 points, while Kyle Korver scored 15 points on five three-pointers. In all, six Cavaliers scored in double figures including Richard Jefferson with 11 and Deron Williams, Derrick Williams and Tristan Thompson scoring 10 a piece.

Goran Dragic led all scorers with 23 points for Miami.

Tip Ins

Hot Shot: Channing Frye hit 9-of-12 from the field for 21 points, including 3-of-5 from three-point range.

3 Ball: After a record-setting performance of 25 three-point shots made against Atlanta, the Cavs were 11-of-27 for 40.7 percent against Miami. Kyle Korver led the way on 5-of-9, while Channing Frye was 3-of-5.

Contract Man: Derrick Williams celebrated his season-long contract signing with 10 points. Since signing two, 10-day contracts, Williams has averaged over 10 points a game. The Cavs announced they had signed him for the rest of the season. 

Deron Time: Filling in for Kyrie Irving (rest), Deron Williams had 10 points for the Cavs.

No Bogut: Andrew Bogut did not play against the Heat. He is expected to make his debut Monday night at home against Miami.

Next Up: The Cavs will host the Heat in a return matchup on Monday night at 7 pm.
