Postgame Notes: Charlotte Hornets 94, Miami Heat 104

Kemba Walker led Charlotte with 19 points in Wednesday's loss to Miami. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade combined for 41 of the Heat's 104 points at the American Airlines Arena.

The Charlotte Hornets (0-1) dropped its season opener Wednesday night against the Heat in Miami. Charlotte has come up empty against its Southeast Division rival in the last 14 trips to the American Airlines Center.

Kemba Walker led the Hornets in scoring with 19 points in 34 minutes and added four assists. Al Jefferson led all scorers at halftime with 17 points but was held scoreless in eight minutes of action in the second half.

Marvin Williams earned the start at power forward for Charlotte and garnered the team's only double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Williams also tallied a team-high 37 minutes.

Newcomer Jeremy Lin added 17 points in 27 minutes off the bench for the Hornets and finished with a 50 percent field goal average on the night. Rookie Frank Kaminsky grabbed one rebound in six minutes of playing time.

Chris Bosh led the Heat with 21 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes, his first game since missing part of last season with blood clots. Dwyane Wade added another 20 points and five helpers in 29 minutes.

Gerald Green, who signed a 1-year deal with Miami in the offseason, scored 19 points off the bench. Green and Luol Deng combined for eight of the team's 12 three-point baskets on the night; Deng tallied 13 total points.

The Heat will return to action Thursday night against the Cavaliers at 8 p.m. in Cleveland.
