Postgame Buzz: Hornets vs. Timberwolves

Charlotte finished its three-game road swing with a 104-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night in Minneapolis

The Charlotte Hornets (3-4) dropped the Minnesota Timberwolves (4-3), 104-95, Tuesday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Newcomers Jeremy Lin and Jeremy Lamb combined to score 37 points off the bench for Charlotte. Lin tallied a team and season-high 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. 

Five Hornets finished in double figures: Walker (10 points), Cody Zeller (14 points), Nicolas Batum (17 points), Lamb (18 points) and Lin (19 points).

Zeller's 14 points marked a new season high for the third-year pro. He tallied his previous season high, 11 points, against Dallas in the team's opening contest of three three-game road swing.

The Hornets will return to Time Warner Cable Arena Wednesday to host the New York Knicks at 7 p.m.

Postgame Notes

- Jeremy Lamb and Jeremy Lin combined for 27 points (9-12 FG, 3-5 3FG, 6-7 FT) in the first half.

- The Hornets had three players—Lamb (14), Lin (14) and Nicolas Batum (12)—finish in double figures scoring in the first half. Cody Zeller tallied nine points prior to intermission. 

- Charlotte shot 18-for-21 from the free throw line in the first half.

- P.J. Hairston left the game with 5:05 left in the first quarter and did not return due to a migraine.

- After making only six three-points in each of the last two games, the Hornets made eight from behind the arc Tuesday night. Charlotte made 7-of-15 attempts in the first half against the Timberwolves. 

- After trailing by 11 in the first quarter, the Hornets closed the period on a 28-14 run to end the period ahead by one point.

- Charlotte completes the three-game road trip with a 2-1 record and is now 2-3 overall on the road this season. 

- The Hornets will play 17 of their next 24 games at home, beginning Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
