Bulls edge Hornets in Chicago

Charlotte fell to 2-4 in road games this season with a 102-97 loss to Chicago Friday night.

The Chicago Bulls avenged its embarrassing 25 point loss to Charlotte on Nov. 3, downing the Hornets 102-97 at the United Center in Chicago on Friday night.

Charlotte (4-5), who had won four of its last five games, snapped a two-game wining streak with the loss.

Jimmy Butler led the Bulls (6-3) with 27 points, and Pau Gasol added a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Nicolas Batum scored a game and season-high 28 points on 6-of-11 shooting, his second-straight game with at least 20 points. Batum shot 5-of-6 from the three-point stripe and tallied eight rebounds. 

Kemba Walker scored 16 points and added eight rebounds, and Marvin Williams tallied 14 points.

Jeremy Lamb scored 15 points in 32 minutes off the bench for Charlotte. The first-year Hornets had a chance to tie the game at 100 on a three-point attempt with 27 seconds left but missed. Butler followed up on the other end with a basket making it 102-97 with five seconds remaining. 

Charlotte shot 45.5 percent from three-point land against Chicago, including a 50 percent mark in the second half.

The Hornets will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Postgame Buzz
- Chicago outrebounded Charlotte 57-45 Friday night

- Batum and Joakim Noah played with heavy hearts on Friday night following the terrorist attacks in Paris. Batum is from Lisieux, and Noah lived in Paris for ten years.

- Batum led all players in scoring with 28 points, and Noah led all players with 18 rebounds.

- Charlotte continued to improve its three-point shooting as the team posted a 45.5 percent mark on the night.

- Cody Zeller, who scored the game-winning basket against New York on Wednesday, missed the game with an ankle sprain.

- P.J. Hairston started his ninth-consecutive game but registered only six points in 15 minutes.
