Magic vs. Cavaliers: What Went Right

There wasn't much that went right for the Magic on Monday night, as they were soundly defeated by the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers, 118-111, who were playing their second game in as many nights while Orlando was off for the weekend. We found a few bright spots in an otherwise dismal effort.

1. Hedo Turkoglu's stats- Turkoglu finished with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while shooting 10-17 from the field. Unfortunately for Orlando, 5 of his 25 points came within the final minute when the game was long since decided.

2. Jameer Nelson offensively- Jameer continued his solid play, scoring 22 points, dishing out 4 assists, and grabbing 4 rebounds.

3. Ball-handling- The Magic committed just 10 turnovers which led to only 7 Cavalier points. Imagine how bad the score could've been if they didn't take care of the ball.

Orlando has played mostly uninspired basketball for much of this homestand, as referenced by their 1-3 record. All the "good feelings" that built up in the Magic's narrow victories over Eastern Conference bottom-dwellers Miami, Philadelphia, and Indiana have now been replaced with a harsh dose of reality against the league's better teams. Orlando must find a way to bounce back with a victory over Denver Wednesday night and stop the current tailspin that they're experiencing.
