Mavs Devalue Bucks; A Palate-Cleansing Dirkie

A sliced apple, a chill sorbet, some pickled ginger -- palate cleansers. That's what the Mavs fed themselves in Sunday's 125-102 home win over the Bucks. And now we feed one lucky guy 'The Dirkie.'

A sliced apple, a chill sorbet, some pickled ginger -- palate cleansers. Morsels of food meant to clear the sense of taste of lingering flavors. And boy, did we all need something to take the ick of Friday night against the Suns out of our mouths.

The theme for that meal might've been Everything We're Doing Wrong, So Far, by the Dallas Mavericks. Along comes Milwaukee, wonderful, refreshing Milwaukee, allowing 58 percent from the floor, turning the rock over 19 times, and posing so little threat in the late game that Nowitzki and Chandler topped out at 26 and 25 minutes apiece. Final 125-102. Thanks Bucks. We needed that.

Meatier stuff's on the horizon, as the Dallas Mavericks travel to Memphis on Tuesday for dinner and a show with the Grizzlies. Major matchup, potential seeding implications depending on how the rest of the season shakes out.

For now, one delicious Dirkie (no it's not full of chocolate) is ready for the awarding. Vote here for Player of the Game, from these candidates!

Chandler Parsons -- 28 points on 11-14, beastly
Dirk Nowitzki -- 21 points, that's more like it
Monta Ellis -- 19 points, 4 boards, he's everywhere
JJ Barea -- 9 points and 9 dimes
Brandan Wright -- 8 points, 7 boards, 4 steals
Tyson Chandler -- 7 and 7, plus 3 steals and 2 blocks
Jae Crowder -- 9 points and hands of iron
Al-Farouq Aminu -- 4 points and 5 board for The Chief
Devin Harris -- 6 points, a board and a dime
