It was supposed to be a happy and restful Tuesday in Dallas, the result of the Mavs' successful "Dance Under The OKC Confetti'' in Game 2, an 85-84 victory that evens the series at 2-all against the heavily-favored Thunder.
Instead, Tuesday became an even more busy day for trainer Casey Smith as star Dirk Nowitzki has joined the injury list of 'The Masking-Tape Mavs' with a bone bruise to his knee.
But Wednesday brings good news as Dallas preps for Game 3 on Thursday night at the AAC.
*Regarding Dirk: "It's feeling a lot better today,'' he says, and he's planning on playing.
*Regarding JJ Barea: Coach Rick Carlisle says Barea (who said he has "a little tear'' of the groin) and David Lee (foot) participated on the court today in a limited basis.
*Regarding a hero of Game 2, Deron Williams -- profiled here by our Matthew Postins: Carlisle terms him a "game-time decision'' with his abdominal injury.
But Dirk is the guy who moved to center stage on this list on Tuesday with a day-to-day designation ... but now seems prepped to move to The Big Stage that is Game 3. ... Oh, and the Mavs seem prepped to be "The Working Men,'' as Fish writes in his column here.
