Mavs training camp is just two weeks away ... and DallasBasketball.com caught up with veteran guards Deron Williams and Devin Harris -- both coming off offseason surgery -- to learn how far away they are for camp.
Let's call this "hopeful good news.''
From D-Will, who underwent surgery on that sports hernia injury that limited him late last season:
I haven't talked to coach (Rick Carlisle) or Casey (Smith, trainer) yet, but I've been given medical clearance to start camp,'' Williams told us. "We will do it smart. I don't want any hiccups or setbacks, but I have taken three months off from basketball to get ready for this.''
From Devin, who underwent toe surgery:
"I'm not there yet,'' he told us over the weekend. "I just started running last week. I anticipate I'll be good to go, maybe by the second week of training camp.''
Meanwhile, "Locked On Mavs'' podcast guys Mike Marshall and Jake Kemp discuss in what areas will the Mavs be better this season and where will they be worse? 'Biggest Upgrades and Downgrades,' below ...
