DallasBasketball.com presents the'Locked On Mavs' Podcast, Mike Marshall and Jake Kemp ... as we get ready for the start of training camp on Tuesday, with the roster now 20 guys full ... and all 20 fellas were in the AAC basement today for Mavs Media Day.
Among them, of course, was Andrew Bogut. He's the starter here, and you'd love for him to gobble up minutes. He's also ready to gobble up anybody who gives Dirk the business.
"If (Mavs opponents) are physical with Dirk, I'll be physical with them,'' says Bogut, useing the word "protector'' in describing his role as he comes to Dallas from Golden State.
Bogut on Monday bristled at the idea he is injury-prone, noted that he accepted the trade to Dallas so gleefully that he would've asked for a buyout had he been dealt elsewhere, and adds, "I anticipate playing more minutes, but at same time, if somebody behind me is rolling, I'm the first to cheer."
So what about those "guys behind him''? What about Salah Mejri as a change-of-pace backup center? What do the coaches really think of rookie A.J. Hammons? And do some 4's need to work on being 5's?
The fellas kick it around above ... We also keep you updated on Media Day with Monday Donuts ... and I've got 1-on-1 visits with Rick Carlisle (here) and with Wesley Matthews (here). Discuss it all, plus the 'Locked On Mavs' Podcast, here on DB.com Boards!
