Sources tell DB.com that the Dallas Mavericks, who had a summer flirtation with Jaleel Cousins, are now signing the 6-11, 250-pound little brother of Boogie Cousins with a Texas Legends-related intention.
The Mavs scouting department did not love his pre-Draft workout in Dallas. He played at South Florida after a time at Navarro JC. And he recently was involved in a nightclub dispute that involved a taser and his brother.
But .. he's Boogie's brother. All sorts of fun to be had here, eh?
Cousins was not drafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. He was an 8/8 guy in college and then played for Dallas in the Orlando Summer League, where he got 14 minutes per game and averaged five points and three rebounds.
This is D-League Texas Legends-related. ... part of the usual shuffle of players from the varsity to the JV. The Legends do want to bring just-released Jameel Warney -- also a burly big man at 6-8, 250 -- to Frisco. ... for what promises to be a wide-bodied front court should all the pieces fall in place.
