Report: Kaepernick being investigated

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being investigated by Miami police for a "suspicious incident," according to multiple reports.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being investigated by Miami police for a possible sexual assault, as first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by the Bay Area News Group.

Kaepernick has spent the majority of his offseason working out in Miami. The alleged incident occurred at the Viceroy Hotel earlier this month. The investigation is in the "beginning stages," according to the initial report.

"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts," said the team in a statement.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, Quinton Patton of the 49ers and Ricardo Lockette of the Seahawks are also being investigated by police.

UPDATE (April 10, 10:30 a.m.)

According to Barrows, the police are investigating what is being termed as a "suspicious incident" that took place at Lockette's Miami apartment April 1 when an unnamed woman joined Kaepernick, Lockette and Patton at 9 p.m.

The woman was asked to serve drinks and "hit the bong which contained marijuana," the report said.

More from Barrows' findings:

"The report continues to say that the woman felt light headed and went to a bedroom where she was later joined by Kaepernick, with whom she had a sexual relationship in the past. Kaepernick then left the bedroom. The two did not have sex, she said in the report. The report says that Patton and Lockette peeked inside the bedroom and that the woman yelled at them to get out.

According to the report, the woman does not remember anything about the night after that. She woke up in a hospital bed not knowing how she got there. The woman, whose name is redacted, reported the incident to police on April 3."
