The 49ers will likely be without Anquan Boldin and Carlos Hyde in Sunday's game against the Falcons

The 49ers will likely be without two of their best skill players for the second straight week.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After missing practice this week, receiver Anquan Boldin is unlikely to play while running back Carlos Hyde has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Hyde continues to deal with his foot injury, while Boldin was officially listed as 'doubtful' on Friday's status report.

Boldin missed last week's 27-6 loss to the Rams, ending his consecutive games played streak that dated back to the end of the 2012 regular season with the Baltimore Ravens.

The 2-6 49ers will have their bye week following Sunday's game, which means Hyde will have at least a full month between games if he were to play Nov. 22 game in Seattle.

Additionally, San Francisco's rookie running back Mike Davis has been ruled out for Sunday after undergoing a procedure on his injured right hand, which he injured in last week's loss.

The 49ers are slated to have a new-look backfield after bringing in journeyman Shaun Draughn, who was released by the Browns in October, and former Saints' running back Pierre Thomas, who was released by New Orleans in March.

Joining former practice squad player Kendall Gaskins, the 49ers will spent the week trying to figure out how to divy up playing time within the makeshift group.

"The way they’ve come in and (running backs coach) Tom Rathman, they’re in there with Tom and it’s into the night and they are here and they’re rolling," head coach Jim Tomsula said Friday. "They were out there yesterday. I don’t think we had any (missed assignments) out of those guys. So, they’ve got the skill, they are both good backs. So, the stuff that they are doing and the way they are conducting themselves is really good, really impressive.”
