Niners sign more undrafted free agents

The 49ers announced the signings of six undrafted free agents Wednesday afternoon, bringing to eight the total of UFAs that have returned signed contracts to the team.

University of California receiver Charon Arnold and Hofstra defensive tackle Ryan Fletcher are the new names to sign with the team. The Niners also announced the signings of Duke tight end Michael Hart, Virginia defensive lineman Darryl Sanders, USC safety Frank Strong and UCLA fullback Matt Stanley, all players that SFI reported Tuesday had signed with the team.

SFI also reported Tuesday that the Niners had signed Oregon State running back/kick returner Ken Simonton and receivers Donnie O'Neal of Arizona State, Brian Haugabrook of Florida and Scott Lipford of Rowan. The team has yet to confirm those signings. It's the 49ers' policy not to release names until contracts are signed and returned.

The Niners announced Tuesday they had signed Menlo College receiver Nate Jackson and Stanford tackle Austin Lee, who played defensive end in college.

The Niners probably are done signing UFAs. The UFAs signed by the team and reportedly signed totals 12, and team officials said after the draft that San Francisco planned to sign between 12 and 15 undrafted rookies before the Niners' three-day minicamp that begins Friday at the team's Santa Clara headquarters.
