Dashon Goldson: Contract numbers

SFI has obtained the contract numbers for the four-year deal fourth-round draft pick Dashon Goldson signed with the 49ers on Monday, including his signing bonus and annual base salaries.

According to a NFL source familiar with the details of the contract, Goldson's deal is worth about $2.08 million with a signing bonus of $413,000.

He'll receive base salaries of $285,000 in 2007, $370,000 in 2008, $460,000 in 2009 and $550,000 in the final year of his contract in 2010.

Goldson becomes the sixth of San Francisco's nine draft picks to sign with the team, following fellow fourth-rounders Jay Moore and Joe Cohen, fifth-rounder Tarell Brown, first-rounder Joe Staley and sixth-rounder Thomas Clayton.

Negotiations remain ongoing with the 49ers' three remaining unsigned picks - first-rounder Patrick Willis and third-rounders Jason Hill and Ray McDonald. The 49ers should have their third-rounders signed by the time players report for training camp at team headquarters on Saturday, and the team is hoping to have Willis - the No. 11 overall pick in the draft - signed before the Niners begin their summer practice grind on Sunday.

Goldson, a versatile 6-foot-2, 205-pound defensive back from the University of Washington, was one of San Francisco's more impressive rookies during the team's spring drills and will enter training camp with the inside track to win the fourth safety spot on the roster behind projected starters Michael Lewis and Mark Roman and swing safety Keith Lewis.

Goldson will begin summer camp second on the depth chart at free safety behind Roman.
