Gore a man of a thousand yards again

Quick-hit game notes from the 49ers' 20-6 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

--- RB Frank Gore rushed for 71 yards on 28 carries, giving him 1,013 rushing yards on the season, marking his 4th consecutive 1,000-yd. season. He is the only player in franchise history to record four 1,000-yd. seasons.

--- Gore tied his career-high, notching his 8th rushing TD of the season on a 1-yd. run that gave the 49ers a 20-3 lead late in the third quarter. He has a career-high 11 touchdowns on the season.

--- Gore also had four receptions for 81 yards receiving, including a 48-yard catch and run, the longest reception of his career. With 152 yards from scrimmage, Gore now has 7,260 yds, from scrimmage for his career. He has moved past RB Garrison Hearst (7,139) for sixth place in franchise history.

--- The 49ers defense kept the Lions out of the end zone, allowing just 2 field goals. This marks the 4th time this season that the 49ers defense kept an opposing team from scoring a TD. The 49ers are tied for first in the NFL with the New York Jets for most games holding an opponent without a TD this season.

--- For the 6th time this season, the 49ers held their opponent to 10 points or less. The Niners are tied for the NFL lead in that department with the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

---· LB Takeo Spikes brought down QB Drew Stanton for his 4th sack of the season. Spikes' 4.0 sacks are his most since he notched his career-high 6.0 sacks in 2001.

---· LB Ahmad Brooks registered his team-leading 6th sack of the season, forcing a fumble by Stanton. It is Brooks' 3rd FF of the season. The loose ball was scooped up by Spikes, his first FR of the season and 16th of his career.

--- QB Alex Smith found TE Vernon Davis in the back of the end zone for his 17th TD pass of the season, setting a new career high. His previous career-high was 16 TD passes in 2006. Heading into the final game of the season, Smith has already set a new single-season career high in TD passes (17) and he is on pace to set new career-highs in completion percentage (60.5) and quarterback rating (80.2).

---The 49ers allowed just 1 sack on the day. Over the last 5 games, the team has given up 6 sacks, which is tied for the 5th-fewest in the NFL (1st in the NFC) allowed over that time span.

--- WR Michael Crabtree set his new career-long on a 50-yd. reception from QB Alex Smith, to help set up K Ricky Schmitt's first career field goal. Schmitt made his NFL debut and connected on 2-of-3 FG attempts, hitting from 33 and 39 yards.

--- C Cody Wallace and DT Ricky Jean Francois each made their NFL debuts, playing a series on offense and defense respectively.

--- DT Justin Smith extended his consecutive starts streak to 138 games, which leads all defensive linemen. Arizona DT Darnell Dockett is second at 80 games.

--- S Mark Roman extended his streak to 111 consecutive games played. He ranks 2nd in the NFL among safeties with 110 consecutive games played (Deon Grant, SEA – 143).
