Robert Gallery Profile
As the Seattle Seahawks had former Minnesota Vikings offensive guard Steve Hutchinson in for a visit and re-signed offensive guard Pat McQuistan, they cut offensive guard Robert Gallery.
Gallery, 31, was due a $5 million base salary next season.
He dealt with knee problems last season and suffered an abdominal injury and underwent surgery.
Hutchinson, 34, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection who was cut by the Vikings this week. The former Seahawks standout visited the Tennessee Titans before his Seahawks visit.
Hutchinson left the Seahawks under controversial circumstances years ago, leaving under a so-called poison pill contract.
He signed a seven-year, $49 million contract with the Vikings that was designed so if the Seahawks opted to match the entire $49 million would be guaranteed.
