Charlie Whitehurst Profile
The San Diego Chargers reached a two-year contract with quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, a former Chargers third-round draft pick.
Whitehurst was with the Chargers until 2009 when he was traded to the Seahawks. San Diego and Seattle exchanged 2010 second-round draft picks as San Diego moved up 20 spots and picked up the Seahawks' 2011 third-round draft pick.
During his first stint with the team, Whitehurst didn't have a passing attempt behind Philip Rivers and Billy Volek.
In nine games for the Seahawks over the past two years,
Whitehurst played nine games for the Seahawks and passed for 805 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions as he completed 54.2 percent of his throws.
Whitehurst started a Jan. 2, 2011 win against the St. Louis Rams where he completed 61.1 percent of his throws for 192 yards and a touchdown and no interceptions.
Whitehurst is under contract through the 2013 season.
