Cortland Finnegan Profile
Talk about being politically correct.
St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan, in Detroit over the weekend for a charity softball game, told the Detroit Free-Press that if his Rams squad doesn't win the Super Bowl, the Detroit Lions will hoist the Lombardi Trophy in early 2014.
"You don't have the name Megatron for any other reason other than you're a bad man," Finnegan told the Free-Press. "So that's where it's at. They had a lot of good things going for them. Slot receivers, [quarterback Matthew] Stafford is amazing. They picked up some good stuff this year. So [coach Jim] Schwartz, he's always going to put together a good team."
Who knows, maybe Finnegan actually believes what he said. But when tossed a softball from a local Detroit reporter, Finnegan did his best to suck up to that particular newspaper's home team.
