Sunday Snapshot: Redskins vs. Bears

The NFL experts from The Sports Xchange come up with everything you need to know prior to Sunday's contest, as the Chicago Bears are set to take on the Washington Redskins in Week 7 at Soldier Field.

Kickoff: 12:00 p.m. Central
Surface: Natural Grass
Television: FOX – Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman, Pam Oliver
Series History: 40th regular-season meeting. Bears lead series 20-18-1. The Redskins have won the last three low-scoring meetings (2004, '05 and '07) by a combined 46-33. The Bears and Redskins have also met seven times in the postseason, with the Redskins holding a 4-3 edge.

Chicago has the look of a team at a crossroads despite sitting atop the NFC North. The Redskins present many challenges, such as blocking LB Brian Orakpo, but also rank last in total defense and 31st against the pass (298.2 yards allowed per game). Teams have moved the ball with ease when the pocket holds around the quarterback, but Chicago's constantly-changing offensive line has failed to protect Jay Cutler. Redskins QB Donovan McNabb has been erratic, as pass protection has faltered – eight sacks in two games – recently. RB Ryan Torain's emergence could be a boon, but the Redskins have to stretch the field.

The Redskins allowed 32 points in their three wins, 87 points in three losses. ... Bears K Robbie Gould has made an NFL-high 55 consecutive field goals inside 40 yards.
