Wish List

The Bears have some holes to fill on the roster and in a perfect world the team could address all remaining needs in the draft. However, that rarely happens but it doesn't hurt to dream.

In the first round the Bears select a defensive lineman. With the fourth pick in the draft they will have their pick of any defensive player. Current options include defensive end Terrell Suggs and defensive tackles Dewayne Robertson and Jimmy Kennedy.

Quarterback will be the top priority in the second round. Not knowing who will fall to the Bears names such as Rex Grossman, Dave Ragone and Chris Simms could be there. Whoever is selected will be dubbed the QB of the future and eventual savior of the franchise.

Running back could offer value for the Bears third round slot. Onterrio Smith and Justin Fargas have great speed and can catch the ball out of the backfield. Smith can also return kicks, which is something the Bears need to upgrade.

To open the second day of the draft the team should look for the best player available no matter what position he plays. With the third selection in the round several teams could come calling to get a player that slipped. The Bears found Alex Brown in this position last year.

The Bears have seven picks in the final three rounds of the draft. The Bears will look to add depth with the bulk of choices. Positions that need strengthening include safety, linebacker, cornerback and possibly receiver.
