LAKE FOREST, IL - The Chicago Bears signed defensive end Bryan Robinson to the one-year transition tender amounting to the average of the top ten salaries at his position.

Robinson is coming off a breakout season in which he led the Bears' defensive line with a career-high 77 tackles. The fourth-year left end also ranked third on the Bears with 4.5 sacks and second with nine pass deflections. The Fresno State product is a main component of a revamped Chicago defensive line including newcomers Ted Washington and Keith Traylor at the tackle spots as well as incumbents Phillip Daniels and Mike Wells.

Robinson was originally signed off waivers by the Bears in 1998 after being released by the St. Louis Rams at the end of training camp that year.
