Dawson, a 6'6 defensive tackle from Angelo State, and Coleman, a 5'10 185 pound cornerback out of Hampton, had spent time with the Bears last year.
The Bears drafted 6'2 315 lb. DT Ian Scott and 6'2 290 lb. DT Tron LaFavor from Florida in April of 2003. 6'1 196 lb. CB Charles Tillman from Louisiana-Lafayette was also picked up in this year's draft.

The Bears signed sixth-round draft pick Joe Odom Monday to a three-year contract. Odom is the first of the Bears' 12 draft picks from 2003 to sign with the team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Odom was a four-year letterman at Purdue, twice earning all-Big Ten Conference honors while starting at the inside and outside LB positions. The Bethalto, Ill. native moved into the starting lineup late in his freshman year en route to starting 32 of 46 career games played. He finished his career with 244 tackles, including seven sacks and 24 TFLs, plus 11 PDs, four INTs, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and two blocked kicks.
Odom, a 6-1, 238-pound linebacker from Purdue, was the first of two sixth-round picks for Chicago this year, selected 191st overall.
