Bears ink Forsey

The Bears signed the second of their 12 draft choices. Sixth-round pick <!--Default NodeId For Brock Forsey is 738202,2003--><A HREF=[PlayerNode:738202]>Brock Forsey</A> to a three-year contract Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Forsey, a 5-11, 203-pound running back from Boise State, was the second of two sixth-round picks for Chicago this year, selected 206th overall. Fellow sixth-round selection Joe Odom (191st overall) was the Bears' first 2003 draft pick to sign, inking a three-year deal on June 9.

The former walk-on at Boise State concluded his career as a three-time all-Western Athletic Conference performer and the second-leading rusher in school history. Among his many accomplishments, Forsey tied the NCAA records for most games scoring a TD in a season (12, tied with Marshall's Randy Moss) and career (35, tied with Miami of Ohio's Travis Prentice). In 47 career games, he rushed a school-record 813 times for 4,045 yards and school-record 50 TDs, caught 101 passes for 1,175 yards and 18 scores, and returned 63 kickoffs for 1,450 yards. Forsey also owns school records with 6,670 career all-purpose yards and 63 kickoff returns. Forsey is just the third player in college annals to score more than 400, totaling 408.

Defensive end Michael Haynes (1st round, 14th overall), quarterback Rex Grossman (1st round, 22nd overall), cornerback Charles Tillman (2nd round, 35th overall), linebacker Lance Briggs (3rd round, 68th overall), safety Todd Johnson (4th round, 100th overall), defensive tackle Ian Scott (4th round, 116th overall), wide receiver Bobby Wade (5th round, 139th overall), wide receiver Justin Gage (5th round, 143rd overall), defensive tackle Tron LaFavor (5th round, 171st overall) and guard Bryan Anderson (7th round, 261st overall) are the 10 remaining Bears draft choices yet to sign.
