DE Chandler Jones to visit Bears

Chandler Jones is visiting the Chicago Bears this week. The Syracuse defensive end is considered a late first- or early second-round pick.

Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones visits the Chicago Bears this week, according to a league source.

Jones has visited the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets.

The Miami Dolphins are another team on Jones' travel itinerary.

Jones is drawing late first-round to early second-round grades.

The younger brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones, the 6-foot-5, 266-pounder ran the 40-yard dash between 4.74 and 4.87 seconds at the NFL scouting combine.

He bench pressed 225 pounds 22 times and registered a 35-inch vertical leap, a 10-foot broad jump, a 4.38 20-yard shuttle and a 7.07 three-cone drill.

Jones is an All-Big East Coference first-team selection who finished his career with 147 tackles, 27 for losses and 10 sacks.

Jones missed five games last season with a knee injury suffered in the first game against Wake Forest.
