Bears sign rookie Greg McCoy

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with rookie cornerback Greg McCoy, the team's seventh-round selection this year.

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with KR/CB Greg McCoy on a four-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Bears selected McCoy with the 220th overall pick in the 7th round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Texas Christian University. McCoy started 39 of 52 games at cornerback for the Horned Frogs from 2008-11, while also handling kickoff return duties his last three seasons with the team. He finished his collegiate career with 92 tackles (71 solo), seven interceptions and 17 pass break ups. He also amassed 1,505 kickoff return yards and three touchdowns on 52 kickoff returns (28.9 ypr).

The 5-10, 178-pounder was named a and Yahoo! Sports first-team All-American at kick returner and the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year as a senior after leading the conference and ranking sixth nationally in kickoff return average (30.6 yards; 979 yards and two touchdowns on 37 returns). He also added 30 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass break ups in his final season at TCU.
