Bears sign Taylor, Washington

The Bears signed free agent defensive tackle Henry Taylor and defensive end Keith Washington. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Taylor, a 6-2, 295-pounder out of the University of South Carolina, was a member of the Detroit Lions practice squad for parts of the last three seasons and finished the 2000 season with Atlanta after signing a free-agent deal with the Falcons. He had four tackles last season.

Washington, a 6-3, 260-pounder out of Louisiana Tech, recently played for Barcelona in the NFL Europe. In 1999, he participated in the Carolina Panthers training camp after signing as an undrafted free agent.

Number Changes: Henry Taylor will be wearing number 68, Keith Washington 69, Devin Lemons will switch from 68 to 60-d and Bernard Robertson will be 60-o.

Harris placed on left squad list: After announcing his intentions to retire Chicago Bears veteran linebacker Sean Harris was placed on the reserve/left squad list.
