Bears sign David Terrell

PLATTEVILLE, WIS --The Chicago Bears agreed to terms on a five-year contract with wide receiver David Terrell. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Terrell was the eighth overall selection in the 2001 NFL Draft after leaving the University of Michigan as a junior.

The 6-3, 215-pounder started two seasons for the Wolverines and also saw time as a defensive back in nickel and dime formations as a sophomore.

In three seasons he caught 152 passes for 2,317 yards and 23 touchdowns.

The Bears scheduled a 9:30 p.m press conference Sunday with Terrell. However, it has been postponed until Monday. His flight was cancelled and he will arrive in Platteville late Monday morning.

Bears waive linemen: The Bears waived undrafted free agent guard Rick Gilliam. The West Virginia product was signed as an undrafted free agent during the 2001 offseason.
