LAKE FOREST, IL -- The Chicago Bears announced the schedule for the remainder of its 2001 training camp in Platteville, Wis. The Bears reported to camp on July 19 and are back in Chicago this weekend to open the 2001 preseason schedule with a 7:05 PM kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 4 against Cincinnati.

Monday, Aug. 6 -- Practice 8:30 a.m.; Practice 2:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 7 -- Practice 8:30 a.m.; Walkthru 2:45 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 8 -- Practice 8:30 a.m.; Practice 2:45 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 9 -- Practice 8:30 a.m.; Walkthru 2:45 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 10 -- Practice 8:00 a.m.; Travel to Nashville, Tenn.

Bears release McElroy: The Bears released safety Ray McElroy today. The 5-11, 196-pounder out of Eastern Illinois played mostly on special team for the Bears in 2000, recording 14 tackles.

Injuries: The following players will sit out Saturday's game:
