Bears work out receiver Jarred Fayson

The Chicago Bears put former Saints wide receiver Jarred Fayson through a workout today, although he was not immediately signed to a contract.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Chicago Bears put former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarred Fayson through a workout today.

Fayson played collegiate football at the University of Illinois and was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints in 2011. He has since spent time on the practice squads of the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots.

He was signed to a reserve/futures contract by the Saints this past January but was waived by the team on Aug. 19. He had just one catch for four yards in two preseason games with New Orleans.

Fayson has never been active for an NFL game, so it's unlikely the Bears are looking at him as anything more than a practice squad player. It's highly doubtful this workout has anything to do with the news yesterday that the club is trying to trade receiver Earl Bennett.
