Bears sign TE John Davis

The Chicago Bears signed tight end John Davis to a two-year deal today. The 6-4, 270-pounder out of Emporia State played with the Minnesota Vikings in 2000, catching 17 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown.

The sixth-year pro played in Tampa Bay for four seasons (spent 1996 on Injured Reserve) and helped the Bucs advance to the 1999 NFC Championship with the game-winning touchdown catch against Washington in the Divisional Playoff.

Sinceno placed on IR: The Bears placed tight end Kaseem Sinceno on the Injured Reserve list this afternoon.

The 6-4, 255-pounder out of Syracuse dislocated and fractured his left ankle in last Saturday's game against Tennessee and will be sidelined for the 2001 season.

Sinceno underwent surgery Monday (8/14) afternoon and began a five month rehabilitation program today.
