Bears place Joe Anderson on IR

The Chicago Bears have placed wide receiver Joe Anderson on injured reserve with an abdominal and groin injury.

The Chicago Bears today placed wide receiver Joseph Anderson on injured reserve with an abdominal and groin injury.

Anderson joined the Bears last season as an undrafted free agent and made the 53-man this year after a stellar training camp and preseason. He appeared in six regular games this year but failed to record a catch. He had one special teams tackle.

The team also released defensive tackle Zach Minter, an undrafted free agent out of Montana State who was one of the final players to make this year's roster. Minter appeared in two games this season but failed to dent the stat sheet.

Newly signed Jeremiah Ratliff will likely take Minter's spot on the roster.
