Bears sign DE Trevor Scott

The Chicago Bears today signed six-year veteran defensive end Trevor Scott to a one-year contract.

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears signed DE Trevor Scott to a one-year contract.

The 6-5, 260-pound Scott has appeared in 76 games with 18 starts over six seasons with Oakland (2008-11), New England (2012) and Tampa Bay (2013), registering 94 tackles – including 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for losses – two forced fumbles and one pass break up. He has added 20 tackles on special teams.

Scott originally entered the NFL as a sixth round selection (168th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Raiders out of the University of Buffalo. He had his most productive season statistically in 2009 when he recorded 37 tackles, seven sacks, 11 tackles for losses, 12 quarterback hits and six special teams stops in 16 games played with six starts for Oakland.
