Bears place Wilson on IR; re-sign Hayden

The Chicago Bears have placed wide receiver Marquess Wilson on Injured Reserve/Designated to Return and re-signed cornerback Kelvin Hayden.

The Chicago Bears today placed second-year wide receiver Marquess Wilson, last year's seventh-round pick, on the Injured Reserve/Dedicated to Return list.

Wilson broke his collarbone during training camp and will be out through Week 8, at which time the Bears may activate him to the 53-man roster. Following Week 8, the team has three weeks to either activate Wilson or officially end his season.

The Bears will turn to Santonio Holmes and Josh Morgan to fill Wilson's spot on the depth chart.

To replace Wilson on the roster, the club has re-signed veteran cornerback Kelvin Hayden, who was waived during final cuts Saturday. Hayden will likely slide back into his role as the primary backup to starters Tim Jennings, Charles Tillman and Kyle Fuller.

Hayden has appeared in 101 games (49 starts) in nine seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (2005-10), Atlanta Falcons (2011) and Chicago Bears (2012-13), collecting 345 tackles (269 solo), 12 interceptions, 44 pass break-ups, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and 28 special teams stops. Hayden has added four regular season defensive return touchdowns (three interception returns and one fumble return).
