Brandon Marshall will play; Allen inactive

Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen will not suit up today due to illness, while wide receiver Brandon Marshall is active and will play. View the full inactive lists below.

The Chicago Bears today will be without the services of defensive end Jared Allen, who is inactive for this afternoon’s contest against the Green Bay Packers due to illness. Willie Young, who leads the NFL with 4.0 sacks, will start in Allen’s place.

The good news for the Bears is wide receiver Brandon Marshall (ankle) is active and will play. Marshall did not practice this week, so he’ll likely be less than 100 percent.

Also active for the Bears is safety Chris Conte, who was listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury.

Here is the full Chicago inactive list:

CB Sherrick McManis
LB Shea McClellin
C Roberto Garza
G Matt Slauson
DE Jared Allen
T Charles Leno
DT Jay Ratliff

G Michael Ola will start in place of Slauson, C Brian de la Puente will fill in for Garza and DT Will Sutton will replace Ratliff. CB Isaiah Frey will start at nickelback for McManis.

For the Packers, the following players are inactive:

WR Jarrett Boykin
QB Scott Tolzien
CB Demetri Goodson
LB Carl Bradford
LB Brad Jones
C Garth Gerhart
