Bears elevate David Bass

The Chicago Bears have put Lamarr Houston, who tore his ACL in Week 8, on inured reserve and elevated defensive end David Bass from the practice squad to the active roster.

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears elevated DE David Bass to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, placed DE Lamarr Houston on the reserve/injured list due to a knee injury and signed T Jason Weaver to the practice squad.

Bass is in his second NFL season, appearing in 13 games during his career with one start, gathering 20.5 tackles - including one sack and 2.5 TFLs - and one interception which he returned for a touchdown.

Houston is in his fifth NFL season, playing in 72 games with 68 starts in Oakland (2010-13) and Chicago (2014), collecting 250 tackles, 17 sacks, 39 tackles for losses, four forced fumbles, seven opponent fumble recoveries and one interception.

Weaver entered the NFL in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Mississippi. The 6-5, 305-pound New Orleans native also spent time with the Bengals, Dolphins and Saints.
