The Chicago Bears addressed the safety position in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, selecting Adrian Amos.

The Penn State product is 6-0, 208 and is considered a pure free safety. He ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine.

Amos is a quality cover safety and has good range patrolling the back end of the secondary. He’s not an in-the-box safety but he’s versatile and can cover wide recivers in the slot.

He’s inconsistent against the run but in coverage, he allowed just 3.9 yards per target in 2014. In terms of athleticism and intelligence, Amos checks off all the boxes and could challenge for a starting spot in Chicago as early as 2016.
