Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery will not play against the Cardinals

Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been ruled inactive for Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Cardinals.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is inactive for today's contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Jeffery tweaked his hamstring in Thursday's practice and will not play. That thrusts Marquess Wilson into the No. 1 receiver role, with Eddie Royal sure to get plenty of action out of the slot.

Here are the official inactives for the Bears:

WR Alshon Jeffery
CB Tracy Porter
RB Ka'Deem Carey
LB Jonathan Bostic
C Hroniss Grasu
T Tayo Fabuluje
DT Ego Ferguson

With Ferguson out and Jeremiah Ratliff suspended, that leaves the Bears with five active defensive linemen: Jarvis Jenkins, Will Sutton and Eddie Goldman, as well as Lavar Edwards, signed this week, and Brandon Dunn, who was just elevated from the practice squad yesterday.

OLB Penell McPhee, who did not practice Thursday or Friday due to a wrist injury, is active and will play.

For the Cardinals, the following players are inactive:

QB Matt Barkley
WR Brittan Golden
RB Andre Ellington
LB Shaq Riddick
T D.J. Humphries
G Mike Iupati
NT Xavier Williams

With Ellington out, expect veteran Chris Johnson and rookie David Johnson to carry the rushing load for Arizona.
