Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery will not play Sunday against the Seahawks

Alshon Jeffery and Jay Cutler have been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks, plus the rest of Chicago's injury report.

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox, who was as coy as ever this week in regard to the team's biggest injuries, has ruled out quarterback Jay Cutler (hamstring) and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf/hamstring) for Sunday's contest against the Seattle Seahawks.

“Anytime a player gets hurt, there’s an element of frustration, a little discouragement. But that’s part of this game," Fox said. "You’re going to get knocked down. What do you do? You get back up and bounce back. I don’t expect anything different from Jeffery.”

Fox said Jeffery is also dealing with an illness and he may not make the trip to Seattle.

"Right now, he’s actually sick. Whether or not he travels or not, we’ll talk to the trainers and discuss that from a contagious standpoint with the other players. It’s something else aside from his hamstring and calf injuries."

Fox said Cutler did some throwing today and would have preferred to list him as doubtful.

"He’s going to travel with the team," said Fox. "I actually would’ve preferred to put him as doubtful. He threw the ball a little bit today. He doesn’t have a torn ACL. He has a hamstring injury. It’s kind of one day at a time to see how it improves. Mentally, he’s been great. He’s been a stud. He’s been like he’s been all year as far as his preparation. Everybody’s all in to help Jimmy be the best he can be."

LB Jon Bostic (ankle) is listed as doubtful.

The following players are listed as questionable: WR Eddie Royal (back/hip), DL Ego Ferguson (knee), OLB Pernell McPhee (knee) and CB Tracy Porter (hamstring).

Despite the questionable designation, McPhee said he'll be ready to go on Sunday.

"I’m good, man," said McPhee. "I’m awesome man. I’m awesome. Thank God."

Probable for the Bears are RB Matt Forte (knee), WR Marquess Wilson (shoulder) and G Matt Slauson (thigh/toe).
