Bears place Ego Ferguson on IR, sign Bruce Gaston

The Bears have placed defensive lineman Ego Ferguson on Injured Reserve and signed DL Bruce Gaston.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Chicago Bears signed DL Bruce Gaston and placed DL Ego Ferguson on the reserve/injured list with a knee injury.

Gaston has appeared in two games this season with the Green Bay Packers, collecting one tackle. In the 2015 preseason, Gaston produced three tackles – including a sack – and four quarterback hits. Listed at 6-2, 310 pounds, Gaston entered the NFL in 2014 as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals out of Purdue. The Chicago, Ill. native and St. Rita of Cascia High School product will wear No. 76.

Ferguson has appeared in 20 games with one start over two seasons (2014-15) with Chicago, recording 36 tackles and two sacks.
