The Chicago Bears selected former Indiana running back Jordan Howard in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Howard (6-0, 230) is a bruising running back who excels between the tackles. A two-year starter for the Hoosiers, he rushed for 145 yards in each full game he played.
He has excellent power and vision, and he's light on his feet for a player of his size. He was widely graded as a second- or third-round prospect and was considered by many scouts as one of the top three running backs in this class.
In 2015, he was named first-team All-Big Ten after rushing for 1,213 yards and nine touchdowns. His best games came against Iowa (174 yards) and Michigan (238 yards).
Howard's biggest knock is his penchant for injuries. As a senior he missed four games and parts of three others due to injury.
